Meet Our Staff

Rev. Tom Shepard

Lead Pastor
E-mail Rev. Tom Shepard

I have served as the lead Pastor at Addis since July of 2010 and have experienced as many failures and trials in my life as the next man, and I certainly do not walk on water.
It is a blessing to serve and work in the community we love. I believe our God is a God of second chances, and is continually doing a redemptive work in the hearts of men. I am married to my best friend, Daneyel, and we have seven children. Thomas II, Kirby, Makenna, Micah, Anthony, Molly, and Mercy.

Rev. Ben Harris

Student Pastor & Worship Leader

I have served on staff at Addis since January 2011. My wife and I were married in September of 2011 and we welcomed our first  child in April 2013 and will welcome our second Oct 2017.  I grew up in a Southern Baptist Church learning the Word of God as a child, but it wasn’t until later in life, at age 22, that I would come to experience a real and personal walk with Jesus. Due to the love and grace from some close friends who took the time to mentor me and encourage me, I began my new life following the truths and convictions of my Lord. I now believe God has called me to a life of making those same relationships with others that would allow me to share the Love of Jesus with them in a real and honest way.

For over 40 years I’ve enjoyed serving in church. From music to media, from technology to group ministries. Over the years, God continues to provide many ways we can express His love and salvation.
Lisa and I met in the Music Library at Southeastern… married in 78’… and we’ve been blessed to share these ministry experiences together. Our son Garrett and his wife Libby are also musicians.

Train up a child in the way they should go, and when they are old they will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6
How pure and innocent is a child’s love.  As they grow, it’s my joy to help them learn about God’s love in creative and relevant ways. With our leaders and teachers, we also enjoy providing support and encouragement for parents as they lay the foundation of spiritual growth at home.

Missy Kennedy
